Set a daily review cap, per language
A finishable queue beats a perfect one. Cap your daily reviews to protect the streak and avoid SRS burnout.
Anyone who has used a spaced repetition system long enough knows the failure mode. You miss two days. The queue spikes to 200 cards. You open the app, see the number, close the app. A week later you uninstall.
Vocabingo now ships a per-language daily review cap that solves this directly. Cap the queue at a number you can actually finish on a tired evening, and let the rest defer cleanly to tomorrow.
How the cap works
When the cap is set, the review queue is ordered intelligently before the limit is applied. Freshly-forgot words (the most fragile memories) come first. Then oldest-due. Everything beyond the cap is deferred to tomorrow, keeping its original due date, so it naturally surfaces tomorrow as even more overdue. No batch job, no separate deferred queue, no hidden state.
The /review page shows a banner when the cap clips your queue, for example "Showing 45 of 67 due, the rest will appear tomorrow." You see the deferral. You stay in control.

Per language, not global
The cap is set independently per language profile. A learner doing French and Italian can cap French at 25 (maintenance mode) while leaving Italian unlimited (active acquisition). The setting lives in /settings under learning preferences for the active language.
